QotD: My Musical Horoscope
What's your musical horoscope? (Put your music player on shuffle and write down the first 10 songs that come up.)
I know this one is old, but I've been downloading music into my mp3 player (which I affectionately call Toby) all week, and it reminded me of this.
I still don't see how this is supposed to be a "horoscope", though.
-
"Lost My Mind", Matthew Sweet. I <3 Matthew Sweet big time. I have all his albums, even the super expensive import he made for his Japanese fans.
-
"111 Archer Avenue", Mark Mothersbaugh. I love the soundtracks Mothersbaugh does for Wes Anderson's movies; this one is from The Royal Tenenbaums. I also own the Rushmore soundtrack.
-
"Forever For Her (Is Over For Me)", The White Stripes. I only got into the White Stripes fairly recently, and in a very roundabout way: I was so blown away by the Loretta Lynn album Jack White produced, Van Lear Rose, that I started checking out his band's music.
-
"Girl, You Have No Faith In Medicine", The White Stripes. Dude, my shuffle needs to shuffle more. I have at least 2 dozen different artists on this thing.
-
"Judy Is a Punk", The Ramones. I miss Joey Ramone.
-
"I Always Wanted to be a Tenenbaum", Mark Mothersbaugh. Geez, at least give me something from the other soundtrack if you're going to keep landing on Mothersbaugh.
-
"Clocks", Coldplay. I love Coldplay, even if Chris Martin did marry that snotty bitch Gwynneth Paltrow and agree to name his daughter Apple.
-
"Loops of Fury", The Chemical Brothers. I've been a huge Chemical Brothers fan for years; this is the song that introduced me to them. I have all their albums.
-
"Left Right", The Chemical Brothers with Anwar Superstar. Again with the not shuffling very well. Well, I do have lots of tracks by this group on my player.
-
"Caribou", The Pixies. I've been listening to this band since high school.
